Cosmetic (Non-Invasive Procedures)
Injectables: Botox, Restylane, Radiesse, JuvadermIt seems that sometimes the march of time takes its toll on our faces. Our faces are what we present to the world - and when you feel younger than you look, it can be damaging to your self-esteem.
Injectables can improve the look of your facial features without being as dramatic as having a face-lift. Many people opt for injectables when they can't take time off work, don't want to make dramatic changes to their appearance, or simply just want a 'fresher' looking face. Dr. DeLuca performs a number of safe, non-invasive cosmetic procedures:
. Botox
. Restylane
. Radiesse
. Juvaderm
All of the above injectables are approved by the FDA. Juvaderm is a newly-approved injectable, having been approved by the FDA in June of 2006. Botox works by reducing muscle contractions that result in lines in the face - frown lines, crow's feet and tiny lines around the lips. Restylane, Radiesse and Juvaderm are biosynthetic fillers - they fill in the lines of the face, such as the folds around the mouth and tiny lines around the eyes (crow's feet). These 3 products are made with substances that naturally occur in the human body, so they are safely absorbed by the body over time.
Results from injectables are subtle and long lasting - Botox results last about 4 months; results from other injectables last about 6 months.
Dr. DeLuca administers injectables by first numbing the area to be treated with a topical numbing cream. He then uses fine needles to inject the area of the face that he is treating. Application of the injectables takes only about 3-4 minutes.
Side effects of injectables may include mild bruising that takes only 2-3 days to subside. Most of Dr. DeLuca's patients have no bruising at all and can immediately resume their normal day-to-day activities.
Fat Injections
Soft-tissue fillers, most commonly injectable collagen or fat, can help fill in these lines and creases, temporarily restoring a smoother, more youthful-looking appearance.
Like other injectables, fat helps reduce or eliminate wrinkles. Fat comes from the patient's own body, so there's no chance of an allergic reaction. In addition, fat can be used in higher volumes than most other injectable materials. This means that, instead of merely eliminating aging lines and crow's feet, fat injections can provide a fuller, more youthful face with high contours and smooth skin. Injections of fat into the deep layers of facial tissue can virtually eliminate the angular, thin appearance that often accompanies age.
Spider Vein Therapy
Spider veins are long, thin veins that lie close to the surface of the skin. They are not an essential part of the venous system of the body. Sometimes due to inactivity, sun exposure, medications or simply the toll of age and time, the tiny valves in the veins get weaker, causing blood to collect there. This is why spider veins appear.
Nearly 70% of women and 30% of men will have spider veins appear on their legs. Spider veins on the legs can be a source of frustration, embarrassment and loss of self-esteem. Fortunately, the advent of spider vein therapy makes the condition relatively easy to treat.
To treat spider veins, Dr. DeLuca injects a special solution into the vein, causing it to collapse and simply disappear from view. The injections take about 3-5 minutes, depending on the extent of the problem. Some patients experience minimal bruising, but most of Dr. DeLuca's patients experience no problems and can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.
Dr. DeLuca is experienced in performing non-invasive cosmetic procedures. In many cases, the result of these procedures is very subtle, but can have a dramatic impact on a patient's self-esteem. Dr. DeLuca's patients are usually thrilled with their results, and face the world with a new-found self-confidence.
If you are experiencing tiny lines on the face, just don't feel as 'fresh' looking as you would like, or simply want your legs to look more youthful, Dr. DeLuca encourages you to call the office to find out which procedure would be right for you.
